LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) announced on Sunday that former England opener Alex Hales has officially signed up for the player draft for the league's much-anticipated 10th edition.

Hales, who previously played for defending champions Islamabad United in the last edition, has once again expressed his interest in the PSL.

The 35-year-old brings a wealth of experience, having represented England in 75 T20I matches, amassing 2,074 runs, including 12 half-centuries and a century.

A seasoned PSL campaigner, Hales has played six seasons with Islamabad United and one season with Karachi Kings in 2020.

In total, he has featured in 44 PSL matches, scoring 1,180 runs, which includes six fifties.

However, his previous season saw him struggle, as he managed 148 runs in 10 matches at an average of 14.80 and a strike rate of 124.36.

His extensive T20 franchise league experience spans tournaments like the Indian Premier League (IPL), Big Bash League (BBL), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), and International League T20 (ILT20).

Notably, Hales is the seventh English player and the 17th foreign player to register for the PSL 10 draft, which will take place in Balochistan for the first time. Gwadar will host the landmark event on January 11, 2025.

2019 champions Quetta Gladiators will make the third pick, while Peshawar Zalmi will have the fourth.

Last season’s runners-up, Sultans, and reigning champions United will make the fifth and sixth picks, respectively.
